The Ontario Co-op Association has recently developed some excellent high school level curriculum around co-ops: www.ontario.coop/programs_services/lifelong_coop_learning/all_4_each_coops_in_the_classroom . I think they are willing to share it with organizations in other provinces.

Some housing co-ops already have signs. But some don't.. It's important that we all identify ourselves as co-ops and that we recognize the International Year of Co-operatives

The Co-operatives Secretariat (part of Agriculture Canada) has also talked about having a booth, as part of the federal exhibit at the Stampede, even in 2011. Perhaps this group can partner with the Secretariat.

I've just heard of another film to add. It's a 2008 Italian film called "Si può fare" / You can do it. A review I read said: "This is kind of like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest except that they have jobs (in a social co-op). But it's still clever, fresh and one of the funniest films I have ever seen." It's been released in the UK so that must mean it has English sub-titles.

It could really be about cooperatives and how they enable people to participate in their communities... Looking forward to chatting about it more.

Alberta Venture and Corporate Knights are also worth approaching to see if they'd cover a story on Coops.

By working together to celebrate IYC2012, so many things will be possible! This park will be one way to leave a lasting legacy of the strength of co-ops, plus leave something tangible and enjoyable for the people of our community who have supported our co-ops for so many years.
